You can trust The Fuel Company to install and service both oil-fired and natural-gas-fired boilers. You’ll get reliable, courteous, and responsive service that no big box store can match!
The Fuel Company sells and installs only high-efficiency boilers of top quality from leading manufacturers, including American Standard, Bosch, Buderus, and Weil-McLain.
Today’s Buderus oil-fired boilers offer significant improvements over older boilers. Single-pass style boilers operate at 500°F and run in a single-pass, forcing the combustion gases to travel the length of the boiler. This results in an unnecessary loss of heat. New boilers, like those made by Buderus, operate at 300°F – 350°F and pass through three chambers. This three-pass design is the superior way to get the maximum amount of heat from your fuel. It extracts heat from three times as much interior surface area as the older single-pass boilers. This makes your boiler more energy efficient.
Recently, we added Ideal boilers, from one of the premier makers of residential and commercial gas-fired boilers in Europe. Through a partnership with F.W. Webb, Ideal boilers have been developed for the U.S. market. Now Cape Cod residents and businesses can enjoy the quality and efficiency that the U.K. and Europe have enjoyed since 1906.
At the beginning, when you need to choose a new boiler, we’ll work with you to find the best, most efficient model that meets your needs and your budget. Once you’ve selected the new boiler for your home or business, our team of skilled, experienced service technicians provides expert installation.
Our goal is for you to get the most out of your new boiler for the longest possible time. That is why we offer affordable maintenance plans that include an annual professional tune-up that keeps your boiler running smoothly and at its peak efficiency, helping you keep your heating costs down.
The tune-up is also an opportunity for our service technicians to detect and repair problems before they damage your boiler’s efficiency and cause a breakdown. Many boiler manufacturers include in their warranties the requirement for regular, professional maintenance. Our tune-ups may help you keep your boiler’s warranty in effect.
If your boiler is 15 years old or older, now is the time to begin preparing for its replacement, as the average life expectancy for a boiler is 15 to 20 years. The Fuel Company’s expert maintenance and repair services can keep your boiler going as long as possible, but there will come a time when replacing may be the sensible option.
One consideration is your boiler’s efficiency. Even with regular maintenance, a 20-year-old boiler can be less than 70% efficient. That means that, out of every dollar you spend on heating oil or natural gas, more than 30 cents are wasted in the combustion process instead of going toward heating your home. The lower the efficiency, the higher your energy costs. Upgrading to one of our high-efficiency boilers will begin paying you back as soon as you use it through reduced heating costs.
If your boiler is over 20 years old, you may be wasting more than 30 cents out of every dollar to heat your home.
