What Goes Into a Ductless Mini-Split System
A ductless system consists of several key components that work together to heat and cool your home. The Fuel Company can install a complete system from scratch or replace individual components as your needs change over time.
Our installers will get you set up with:
- An outdoor compressor and condenser unit. This is the heart of the system, housed outside your home. It circulates refrigerant between the outdoor unit and your indoor air handlers to transfer heat in or out of your living space.
- Indoor air handlers. Installed inside your home, these units distribute conditioned air directly into each zone. Depending on your space and preferences, we can install wall-mounted units high on the wall for living rooms and bedrooms, ceiling-recessed cassettes that blend seamlessly into the ceiling for kitchens and open-concept spaces, or floor-mounted units near the baseboard for sunrooms, attics, and rooms with limited upper-wall space.
- Refrigerant line sets. These insulated copper lines connect each indoor air handler to the outdoor unit, carrying refrigerant back and forth to transfer heating or cooling energy.
- Electrical wiring and connections. Dedicated electrical lines power the system safely and efficiently, installed to code by our experienced team.
